The product

Does it kill mice or rats?

No. It's a scent deterrent, not a poison or a trap. Rodents avoid the area, so there's nothing to dispose of.

What's in it?

The balls are infused with peppermint and lemon oil. Full ingredient and caution information is printed on the box.

How long does one ball last?

About one to two months. Warm, well-ventilated spots use up the scent faster. When you can't smell it up close, swap it.

Where should I put them?

Wherever rodents get in or hide: under sinks, in pantries and cabinets, behind appliances, along garage door edges, in sheds, attics and basements, and in cars or RVs that sit unused.

How many do I need?

One ball per spot. One 12-pack covers a typical home plus garage; two packs cover home, garage, shed and car. See How it works.

Is it OK around kids and pets?

Keep the balls where children and pets can't reach them, and don't let pets chew or eat them. Some pets, cats especially, are sensitive to essential-oil scents, so keep balls away from pet beds, bowls and litter areas.

Will it handle a serious infestation?

Deterrents are for prevention and light activity, together with sealing entry gaps. For a heavy, active infestation, call a pest-control professional.

What does it smell like?

Fresh mint with a hint of lemon. Noticeable up close, mild from across a room.
